Implant Business Model – Private Practice
Dr. Malmquist is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a private practice in Portland, Oregon. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and the University of Oregon Dental School. He completed a rotating internship in the US Army and a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and completed seven years and as an ABOMS board examiner. He was the first Treasurer and first President of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from the Pacific Northwest. He has authored numerous chapters in books on implant surgery and has written multiple articles and abstracts on bone grafting and tissue regeneration. He recently completed a chapter on Bleeding Complications in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America, chapter on Bone Grafting with Proteins and currently completing a full chapter review on Sinus Grafting in a new Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery book. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics of implant placement and bone grafting visiting more than twelve different countries. He is a past Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University where he taught for 27 years. He is on the review boards of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. Dr. Malmquist is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He has been honored to serve as a visiting professor at the University of California, University of Tennessee, University of Nebraska, University of Alabama, University of Indiana and the University of Minnesota.
