What COVID-19 safety precautions are being taken at the meeting venue and meeting hotels?
The safety and well-being of all Annual Meeting attendees and exhibitors is a top priority for the Academy. We are closely monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 and plan to adhere to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, along with any federal, state and local government mandates in place at the time of our meeting. How do I register to attend?
There are two ways you can attend the 2022 Annual Meeting – In-person or by Livestreaming. The fastest and easiest way is to register for either option is by accessing the registration page HERE. This link can also be found in the top menu of each page of the Annual Meeting website.
You can also register by mailing or faxing the Annual Meeting registration form to the AO home office. This form is available on the homepage of the Annual Meeting website and in the Registration Packet.
What time on the cutoff date do the registration fees increase?
The discounted early registration rates end at midnight, Central Standard Time (U.S. – Chicago). The increased rate begins at 12:01 am on the morning following the cutoff dates.
What sessions are available through the Livestreaming option?
All plenary sessions at the Annual Meeting in San Diego will be Livestreamed throughout the three-day program. Get more details on this Schedule-at-a-glance.
Does AO offer discounts on hotel accommodations?
Yes, Annual Meeting attendees will receive a special room rate at the chosen official meeting hotels for 2022 Annual Meeting. CLICK HERE for more information about the 2022 meeting hotels.
How do I get a letter of invitation that is necessary to apply for a visa to travel to the United States?
If you are applying for a visa to travel to the United States, you may need to provide a document stating your intention to travel. The Academy of Osseointegration can provide a “letter of invitation” to our attendees from countries outside the U.S. Request letter here.
What restrictions are in place for attendees coming from foreign countries?
Beginning November 8, all foreign travelers to the United States must be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination is required to enter the U.S. Get more details here.
What Annual Meeting functions/activities can my spouse/guest attend?
Registered spouses and guests (limited to two per attendee) are provided access to the Exhibit Hall as well as invited to attend the Thursday evening Welcome Reception and the Friday evening President’s Reception
Please note: ADA CERP, or other educational credit, is not available for a Spouse/Guest registration. If your Spouse/Guest wants educational credit, please register them separately as a regular attendee.
Will free wireless access to the internet be available at the San Diego Convention Center?
Yes, free wireless access is available throughout most of the convention center, including the plenary session meeting rooms and the exhibit hall.
What is appropriate meeting attire?
Business casual attire is recommended for this meeting.
Will Annual Meeting sessions be available for On-demand viewing after the meeting concludes?
Yes, most sessions will be recorded and made available for On-demand viewing to all registrations shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. See which sessions will be available here.
How do I become a member of AO?
The electronic membership application form can be found on AO’s website, osseo.org, and is recommended to facilitate faster processing time.
Downloadable membership application forms are also available on the AO website and can be mailed, emailed or faxed to the AO home office. Completed application forms must be submitted with the required information/documents and membership fees to qualify for the members discounted Annual Meeting Registration fees.
Membership applications must be received in the AO office at least two weeks prior to registration deadlines.
